Backtesting
Backtesting in PANDA Terminal allows traders to evaluate how a strategy would have performed using historical market data—before deploying it in live conditions.
It works natively with PANDA Intels, meaning you can test the same signals you already use on your charts without rebuilding or reconfiguring strategies from scratch.
Backtesting helps you:
- Validate ideas objectively
- Understand risk and drawdowns
- Compare performance across assets and timeframes
- Refine parameters before trading live
How Backtesting Works
-
Create or Select an Intel (Strategy)
Use any PANDA Intel you’ve saved on your Workbench.
-
Open the Backtesting Panel
Configure market, timeframe, and execution parameters.
-
Run the Test
Execute the strategy against historical data.
-
Analyze Results
Review performance metrics, executed trades, and benchmark comparisons directly on the chart.
